EH Workgroup

Several things came out of our EH Workgroup Conference Call yesterday that I wanted to update everyone on.

• On September 29, 2014 a new IDPH website and logo will go live. the Department is toally rebranding itself and all paper documents with the current IDPH logo will no longer exist.  We are requested to recycle what is currently in our possession and obtain any paper documents with the new IDPH logo.  A siren message is to be sent out.
  

• Attached is a Draft of the next set of rule changes to the Water Well Construction Code to address legislative changes that occurred with the passage of SB3055.  This legislation addressed issues dealing with Piping, Coolant and abandoning closed loop wells.  Please mail any comments to Dave Johnson or Ken McCann prior to October 10th in preparation for the Closed Loop Advisory Board Meeting on Oct 17th
  

• The Department is currently reviewing or requesting entities who are have plumbing inspection programs to submit their ordinances for review.  Currently no entity in the state as an ordinance that has been approved by IDPH.  IN addition the Department is now requiring all plumbing inspectors to be tested and certified by the Dept.  Testing is available at Regional IDPH offices.
  

• Was able to test a new performance indicator application site.  It is really very nice and allows us to see all the performance indicators posted since 2008 in addition to receiving a receipt via e-mail if you so choose.  Once sent you can see it in a search list that you can select for each program.  On a down note I looked at the FDD performance indicator survey and I was amused.  They took the survey form I posted last week in the Food topic list and added to it the current survey form.  So now there are 118 items on the FDD performance indicator survey.  That's right 118 items!!!  So be ready to be shocked when you see it and remember you read it here first!
  

 A Siren message with a Performance Indicator Application User Guide will be coming out next week for reporting the First quarter FY 2015 indicators.  The old surveys are no longer accessible.

• A legionella outbreak information document is posted somewhere in the library in the EH pages.  I have not looked for it but I have been assured it is there
  

• The Department is working on the next set of rule changes in the Sewage program that they would like to have out for review within the next month or so.  Any LHD's that have suggested changes to the Sewage Code let Chad and Ken know so they can be considered and incorporated into the next set of proposed rule changes if agreed upon.
